ERR-STATUS-MIB: View SNMP OID List / Download MIB

This is the SNMP request Id value in the SNMP PDU. If at least one entry exists in the errStatusTable for the given manager, the value of this object contains the index value(errReqId value)corresponding to the last entry(latest snmp request for which SET failed). If no entry exists in the errStatusTable for the given manager, then the value of this object is -1. SNMP managers can read this object and is use it for getting the Error Status Information of the last SNMP SET request failed.

This table contains a list of error Status information for a given SNMP manager. The error status information includes error code and error description string.

Each entry is identified by errReqId value which is the request Id value of the failed SNMP SET request. An entry is created by the agent each time a SNMP SET request is failed. Agent maintains these entries for only selected set of SNMP managers and only for selected set of failed requests. The number of SNMP managers and Number of failed SNMP SET requests maintained in this table are dependent upon the agent implementation in the system. However in every agent implementation, entries(if applicable) are available for Latest set of SNMP managers and Latest set of failed requests. The SNMP manager IP address specified in the IP packet and the errReqId value specified in the INDEX value of this table must match the entries maitained by the agent to get value of mib objects.

This object contains the SNMP PDU request ID associated with the packet which resulted in error.

This object contains an error status code used by the manager to take automated corrective actions when requests encounter failures. If no error is encountered, a successful status is provided. This object contains error status information for failed SETS to one or more objects. This object is updated only on failed SETS. Since the SNMP standard allows only limited number of error status returns, the managers can retrieve this variable to get additional information on a failed SET. Typically this object will contain information specifiying date, type of operation object in error and additional error information.
